In this video I will show you a damaged lower shell main bearing and installation of the new one. How is done on such a big engine as MAN B&W 48/60 onboard. Close look of the inside of the MAN B&W four stroke diesel engine, while all crankshaft and camshaft inspection covers are removed. As you can see that is V12 engine, powerful 4 stroke Diesel engine which generates 12600kW or 17000 hp. To me that is the most reliable engine I have ever work with, it is not common rail engine by the way. On my ship we have 4 engines MAN, which in total they generate 68000hp and driving two huge electrical propulsion motors.
