The Extended Play Sessions - April 6, 2024 The Daniela Schächter Nonet perform the song "Infant Eyes" on The Extended Play Sessions. Following the death of the great Wayne Shorter in March of 2023, Berklee College of Music established a "Faculty Fellowship Grant" to honor the jazz great. The rules were simple but very complex. The task was to compose for a nonet, a nine piece orchestra, paying tribute to the music of Wayne Shorter. It was a "big deal" and MANY of the monumental musicians that make up the faculty at Berklee applied for this honor. That "Faculty Fellowship Grant" was subsequently offered to award winning pianist and vocalist Daniela Schächter. The Fallout Shelter has been chosen to document this monumental project and we are brimming with pride and anticipation. This is "what we do"...we document for history and Wayne Shorter IS music history. The Band: Daniela Schächter - piano, vocals Billy Boss - trumpet, Rick DiMuzio - tenor and soprano saxophones Shannon LeClaire - alto saxophone Angel Subero - trombone Lauren Sevian - baritone saxophone Julien Kasper - electric guitar Keala Kaumeheiwa - acoustic bass Gen Yoshimura - drums Production Staff Maribeth Arena - Camera 2 Bill Hurley - Boom Camera John McBreen - Boom Camera Joanne Craig - Camera 3 H Nat Stevens - Cam 1 Remote Connor Quigley - Sound Engineer, Livestream Producer Eric Nordstrom - Front Of House Photographer - Dan Busler Connor Quigley - Post Audio Mix Engineer The Fallout Shelter is an all ages 100-seat performance venue and state-of-the-art broadcast and recording studio, offering one of the most unique live music experiences in New England.
