Cardiff University's School of Optometry and Vision Sciences won a Queen's Anniversary Prize 2017 for Dr Maggie Woodhouse's research into the visual development in children with Down's syndrome and the eye care needs of children and adults with disabilities. Her research is supported by a study group of over 250 children and young people with Down’s syndrome and has resulted in changes to eye care practice and the educational management of children with Down’s syndrome.
