FEATURE FRIDAY - Amanda Sesler | Robert, toi que j'aime | Meyerbeer

We're so excited to welcome back Amanda Sesler to our YouTube Channel! She was a finalist in our virtual "Opera Idol" competition last year! _______________ American soprano Amanda Sesler is a passionate performer and music educator from Erie, Pennsylvania. Praised for her "clear joyous sound," Amanda has performed regularly across the US, most recently settling in the Charlotte, NC area. In 2019, she made her GLOW Lyric Theater debut as Micaëla in Carmen. Other performance credits include Kitty Hart in Dead Man Walking with IU Opera Theater, Yvette in La Rondine with La Musica Lirica in Novafeltria, Italy, and numerous children’s opera roles with Reimagining Opera for Kids and OperaXpress. Amanda was a featured soloist with the Lafayette Bach Chorale for the All About Brahms Concert. She toured China with the Windiana Concert Band as the vocal soloist for their New Year’s Eve Golden Age of Broadway Tour. In 2015, The Indianapolis Matinee Musicale awarded her the Robert and Sophia Marks First Prize Award. In 2020, she was awarded third place in the North Music Competition, was selected as a finalist in Lincolnton Vocal Competition, and was a finalist in Piccola Opera’s NH Opera Idol Competition. Amanda received her Bachelor of Music Education from Indiana University. She taught high school for two years and then returned to IU to complete a Master of Music in Voice. She is currently an Adjunct Professor of Voice at Winthrop University, a Teaching Artist with Children’s Theater Charlotte, and maintains a private voice studio. This season, Amanda is a featured performer in Opera Carolina’s iStream NOW series and a part of OperaXpress’s virtual operatic experience “Abrazo de Oso”. ____________
