On day 5 of our EBC trek, we continue on from Tengboche to Dingboche and finally get above the tree line. We're starting to feel some of the effects of the elevation and climate (ie. sleep deprivation from waking up in the middle of the night, freezing our buns off, etc.). But, luckily, there are enough great people around us to keep our spirits high with good jokes and heartfelt renditions of Bob Marley songs. Day 6 is supposed to be a "rest day" in Dingboche, but if we've learned anything at this point we know "rest" just means extra hiking. Our goal for the day is to make it (close) to the Nangkartshang Peak - approximately 16000 ft in elevation. This is the highest we've ever hiked, and a huge undertaking for us.
