The Kashmir Care Foundation convened a two-part session on Tobacco Cessation with a message that was simple yet powerful: Ending Tobacco Use Starts with Me. Part 1 of the session, held on September 27th, 2025, featured an insightful discussion with Dr. Naveed Nazir Shah (Professor and Head, Chest Medicine, GMC & Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar), Dr. Shumail Bashir (Associate Professor and Head, Respiratory Medicine, GMC Baramulla), and Dr. Syed Nisar Ahmad (Associate Professor, Medical Oncology, SKIMS Srinagar). The distinguished panel engaged in a free-flowing conversation on the grave health risks associated with tobacco consumption, focusing on lung diseases and cancer. The session not only raised awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco but also highlighted the importance of early prevention, timely medical intervention, and collective responsibility in creating a healthier, tobacco-free society.
