I went to the dentist regularly, but then as an adult, we kind of slip off a little bit. But anyways, I ended up around 2015, my teeth started breaking. There was a lot of damage on teeth that had a lot of work done through the years, root canals, couple of surgeries to save a couple of teeth that fell out on my hand, and then cracking and breaking up teeth. Eventually, some pretty bad bone infection, I guess. Dr. Mauricio Moeller: When Kim came in, she wasn't able to take care of her teeth for many years and that had taken a significant toll on her. And what had happened is that she wasn't able to smile. She wasn't able to chew the food she wanted to eat. She wasn't able to actually eat healthy. That's a drawback we see a lot with a lot of patients. Kim: Throughout the years, I've had a lot of dentists. And when I saw Dr. Moeller, he was so compassionate. He put his arm on me and he said, "We'll get through this." And you could just feel the love. Dr. Mauricio: It really had affected her life, her social life and everything. So, when she came in, we evaluated her. And what we did is we extracted all her teeth and we placed implants on her upper jaw and the lower jaw. And we gave her fixed zirconia restoration. It's been amazing how she has changed since then. She has told us that when she's with friends, she's just smiling more. She's laughing more. She's able to eat better and she's eating much healthier too because that's really important for her as well. Kim: The first time I saw my new smile, it was surreal. Wow, I got a second chance. They just went on and they fit great. And so, I can eat anything. I feel totally blessed to have him, that I was led here because everybody else said no when- I think a lot of it's with the technology. I think that he's up on technology and a lot of these other places don't have the ability and don't take the time to learn the new because it's what's in the new that is making it for us to be able to be healthy again, really. Because without teeth, you're not healthy.
