The Entertainer by Scott Joplin arr. by Alfred's for PianoTell Recital #2 (tuned with pianoscope)

This is a short arrangement of "The Entertainer" by Scott Joplin from Alfred's Basic Adult All-in-One Course, Book 1. I can't wait to graduate from this book, but I've got ways to go! I originally played this piece for Kathy Wolf's 2024 Halloween Piano Party and I recorded it at home for PianoTell Recital #2. I was a bit short on time but I tuned it myself to equal temperament using the amazing CyberHammer with the equally mind-blowing pianoscope app. This is the first time I've attempted to record my upright piano and I sort of winged it. I used close miking with the onboard mics on a Tascam Portacapture X8 near the bottom part of the harp and I had a matched pair of the Audix SCX25A mikes behind me. I mixed the mics using Audacity, added a touch of reverb with Space Designer’s Piano Warmth, and finally let AI do the mixing with Mastering Assistant in Logic Pro. I decided to favor a player perspective for the upright. Performed by Navin on 10 November 2024. I am an all-round amateur and do this for the joy and pleasure of it. #PianoTell
