Panelist Bios: As the Vice President of Clinical Nutrition Services, Tammy Beasley focuses on program development and staff training to provide consistency and excellence in nutrition programming at all Alsana programs. With over three decades of experience as a registered/licensed dietitian nutritionist, Tammy has served in multiple dimensions of care including inpatient and outpatient settings, advocacy and clinical training as Director of IAEDP Certification. As the first registered dietitian to become certified with IAEDP in 1993 and the first Alabama dietitian to receive the certified specialist in sports dietetics in 2007, Tammy is a sought-after consultant, speaker, and leader in the nutrition field. Tammy is passionate about translating evidence-based nutritional science into practical yet innovative strategies within a collaborative treatment approach to support full recovery. Rebecca Baker is the Regional Executive Director for Alsana: An Eating Recovery Community in Ballwin, MO. She founded and serves as the President of the St. Louis Chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals. Rebecca is a licensed professional counselor working in the field of eating disorders and co-occurring disorders since 2008. A Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and an approved supervisor, Rebecca was trained in Internal Family Systems therapy by Dick Schwartz in 2009. She completed EMDR training in 2014 and completed SEP (Somatic Experiencing Practitioner) in 2018. Since 2019, she has served as a teaching assistant for the Somatic Experiencing Institute. She completed Embodied Recovery Eating Disorder training January of 2021. Rebecca's passion lies in facilitating the journey for all types of clients to restore their health and wellness. Taylor-Rose Olea is the registered dietitian at the Terra house in Westlake. Taylor-Rose earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics & Food Administration from California State University Long Beach and completed her dietetic internship with Keith & Associates. Before coming to Alsana, Taylor-Rose worked at a few other eating disorder treatment facilities in California. As a dietitian, Taylor-Rose is an integral component of our client's path to recovery. She is eager to rebuild our client's relationship to food and their bodies, while providing compassion and support throughout their journey. Jenn Friedman is a writer, musician, and mental health counseling trainee from New York City. She is currently writing a book about eating disorder recovery and veganism, informed by her experience as a vegan, an eating-disorder-recovered individual, and a training counselor. Jenn is working toward completion of a Mental Health Counseling Masters degree with the University at Buffalo’s MHC Advanced Graduate Certificate program. She received her M.A. in Counseling from Goldsmiths University of London, her Creative Arts and Health Certificate from The New School, and her B.A. in Liberal Arts with a Music Concentration from SUNY Purchase. Jenn is a co-creator of “The Maiya Project,” a short dance film about eating disorder recovery co-produced with Mental Fitness, Inc. She is also the author of “Eating Disorders on the Wire: Music and Metaphor as Pathways to Recovery” (H.T.F.K. Press) and the singer/songwriter/pianist on its accompanying music album, “On the Wire” (Personal Bias Records). Jenn has shared her written and musical material at various treatment centers, universities, and eating disorder recovery events. She has also performed her music extensively at venues in and around New York City.
