In many ways he's still a little boy who didn't receive attunement and nurturing from his mother, and probably didn't also get the protection he needed from an oppressive or controlling father. This creates an adult man with a lot of unmet needs and a ton of anger underneath the surface .And because that anger and temper are there he's expecting you to soothe that anger for him. The issue is that was his mother's role and not the role of his adult partner. When you come to him with your own needs he sees it as a threat and talks about how much he's done for you. He might get what seems to be irrationally angry, but that anger is all of the years of rage that's lived within him mostly geared toward his mother, projected onto you. Instead of becoming a partner he regresses he looks to his partner not as a true equal but as a stand-in for his mother, who failed to show up for him. Just know you're not wrong for refusing to be someone's emotional caretaker when what you actually want is a grown available emotionally responsible partner this is his to heal not yours. #motherwound #familydynamics #emotionalhealing #motherlove #realtionshipshorts
