Stage 5 introduces the fundamentals of diving and continues developing personal survival skills with situational context (e.g. swimming quickly away from danger). Students will also be required to demonstrate efficient stroke techniques by completing a variety of strokes over a longer distance within a given time frame. ✅ Stage 5 (Silver) Swimming Requirements • 50m front crawl (within 1:30 min) • 50m breaststroke (within 1:50 min) • 50m backstroke (within 1:40 min) • 25m sidestroke • 25m survival backstroke • Dolphin kick 10m on front (Crouching dive entry is used for front crawl & breaststroke) ✅ Silver Sequence (No Goggles | Long Pants + T-shirt) • Enter deep water using a stride / straddle jump • Perform a backward somersault • Perform a feet-first surface dive to at least 1.8m depth (ear equalisation if necessary) • Swim through hoops on pool bottom for 3m underwater and resurface • Swim 45m quickly using front crawl • Wave and call for help (rescuer throws a PFD) • Retrieve the PFD in water and fit it while treading water • Demonstrate Heat Escape Lessening Posture (H.E.L.P.) for 30 seconds • Swim 25m with PFD and climb out safely 📌 Important Note: This video is for learning and familiarisation only.
