How to Assemble & Test PTFE AN Fittings ( Teflon AN Hose Fittings )

How to Assemble & Test PTFE AN Fittings ( Teflon AN Hose Fittings ) Today we are going to look at Army-Navy Fittings or AN fittings, how to assemble them as well as how to pressure test a fitting to make sure that they don't leak. The AN fittings are available in virtually an endless selection of types, angles, and styles. In this video we are going to be looking at specifically PTFE or Teflon AN fittings. Teflon or PTFE has multiple advantages for tubing. First, PTFE ( Teflon ) is unaffected by any type of automotive fluid, even alcohol or methanol. It has no affect on the tubing making it the preferred choice for fuel line. PTFE line will also withstand higher pressure and temperatures than standard AN swivel type line. Most PTFE line will withstand over 1000 psi and 400F making it useful in even power steering or air conditioning systems.
