This presentation by Ursula Pawlowski was part of the 11th annual TCU Faculty Convening held May 20-21, 2025 in Minneapolis. Ursula (SHRM-SCP) is a business administration and human resources faculty member at Navajo Technical University. Description: Grading for equity can contribute to student success and academic achievement. This session explores equitable grading within the context of higher education, focusing on its implications for Tribal colleges and universities. We will examine the challenges and opportunities faced by faculty members when implementing equitable grading practices. Participants will leave with an actionable framework that can be used in a future course, develop strategies for faculty buy-in, and construct student assessment activities focused on grade equity.
