After spending time taking in the breathtaking waterfall at Eselbank, we continued on our route, travelling through the beautiful Cederberg Mountains and scenery. The recent floods in the area left visible damage on the roads and landscape. The Eselbank Pass is a nerve wrecking drive for the inexperienced, with only a two-spoor road, sharp bends and perpendicular precipices, making passing near impossible. It is always an anxious moment entering the pass as you really hope that no vehicle is approaching from the other side. When it does happen, it allows for interesting dynamics. We reached Wupperthal late afternoon and appreciated the peaceful surroundings after our scenic drive.
