Paris in 9 Hours: The Ultimate Layover Adventure! (Can You See Paris on a Layover?)

Got a long layover at Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG)? Our 9-hour itinerary is proof you can turn that long wait into a memorable Parisian adventure! On this episode of Mapping It, we just landed in Paris CDG and we have 9 hours until our next flight. Instead of wasting that time in the CDG airport, we're hopping on an RER train into the city to explore Paris on our long layover! We have three goals for our quick trip to Paris: see some cool landmarks, eat some good French food, and maybe do a little shopping. And we have to make it back to the airport for our next flight, of course! As soon as our flight lands, we're hitting the ground running. We buy our RER tickets at the CDG airport and take the RER train into the city. First stop: Notre Dame Cathedral! We don't have time to go in, but we admire Notre Dame from the outside. Then we stop by the famous Shakespeare and Company bookstore and pick up a couple fun English-language books to read on our flight home. We're halfway through our layover now, and we want to do a little more shopping, and maybe grab a bite to eat. So we head to Galeries Lafayette to do both! After lunch, we make a quick stop at the French grocery chain Monoprix to pick up a couple food souvenirs. Our last stop before heading back to the CDG airport is the Arc de Triomphe.
