We Hooked the 3rd Biggest Marlin of the World Tour in Azores!

Anthony and the team head back to the beautiful Azores archipelago in Portugal in September 2025 to chase the large blue marlin that the islands are known for. Upon arrival in Ponta Delgada, Captain Steve gets intel that there might be solid bite on the island of Faial so the team cut lines and make the 150nm journey to Horta overnight. They meet up with Captain Paul Scopinich, the man who designed and built the new Grander chair for Anthony and they catch a few midsize marlins on it. But as the fishing looks promising the challenging weather systems of the North Atlantic set in and completely cut it off. Captain Steve gets new intel from Captain Diogo Paiva back on the main island of Sao Miguel that there has been sightings of monster sized marlin off their coast, so the team pack up again and head back to Ponta Delgada. This time they find the 3rd biggest fish of the World Tour, with estimates over 1000lb. Even with the slower season, fishing off Sao Miguel proves to be fruitful and the travel back and forth was worth it. At the end of the trip, Captain Diogo prepares a local cuisine called Cozido, which is cooked in the ground with volcanic steam for the BADCO team, friends and family and we learn that fishing is fishing, but enjoying company from these locations is truly the big catch.
