Railfanning 7/19/2025 Copyright Conrail Chicago Line Productions A few friends and myself decided to make the journey out to the CSX ex Baltimore and Ohio Indiana Subdivision in southern Indiana to catch the CPL signals and code poles for possibly the last time before they're replaced with the modern "vader" signals. We spent 9 hours between North Vernon and Dillsboro, Indiana and had some great success. Caught 4 trains, plenty of CPLs and Code Poles as well as a grade crossing that still had just mechanical bells. From what I've heard the CPLs between EE Butlerville, IN and WE Milan, IN are due to be taken out on 8/20/25 and the section between EE Milan, IN and WE Lawrenceburg, IN are scheduled 4-5 months from now with no exact date set as of yet.
