In last week's episode—Episode 52—I showed you how plants "see" light compared to how we perceive light. Well, that will come into play in this episode, because I'm going to show you how you can accurately measure light in your home. To do that, I'm employing light meters, including a PAR Meter and a Footcandle meter. Footcandle meters are a common way to measure light, but they are getting phased out because they come with certain limitations, which you'll find out about shortly. PAR Meters are much more accurate, though they can be a bit more expensive. I should say that you don't need meters to have a good sense of light in your home, but by having a meter, you have a much more accurate understanding of the quality, quantity and intensity of light your plants are receiving and if they are adequate for the plant's growth and reproduction. Lastly, I launched a Kickstarter two weeks ago for How to Make a Plant Love You: Houseplant Masterclass and if you haven't considered supporting yet, then I would love your contribution here: http://ezrt.io/a3c0d93.
