Measurements as I promised in the video: Violin: Standard Professional: Thickness of Bridge Feet 4,2mm - Upper part where the strings are: 1,2mm String Spacing @ the bridge 33-34mm - String Spacing @ upper nut 16 - 16,5mm For Beginners: Thickness of Bridge Feet 4,5 to 5mm - Upper part where the strings are: 1,6mm - String Spacing @ the bridge 34 - 35mm - String Spacing @ upper nut 16,5 -17mm Viola: Standard Professional: Thickness of Bridge Feet 4,8 to 5,2mm - Upper part where the strings are: 1,4mm String Spacing @ the bridge 36,5 -38mm - String Spacing at the upper nut 17 - 17,5mm For Beginners: Thickness of Bridge Feet 5 to 5,5mm - Upper part where the strings are: 1,6mm - String Spacing @ the bridge 38mm - String Spacing at the upper nut 17,5 - 18mm Cello: Standard Professional: Thickness of Bridge Feet 10,5mm - Upper part where the strings are: 2,4mm String Spacing @ the bridge 46,5mm - String Spacing at the upper nut 22mm For Beginners: Thickness of Bridge Feet 12mm - Upper part where the strings are: 3mm String Spacing @ the bridge 48mm - String Spacing at the upper nut 23mm As you can see the bigger the instrument the less difference I would make on the string spacing since it would become just only harder to play. But bridge thickness is actually to be considered. Evenso it is rather meant for beginners who do not understand what to look at.
