Some know not the FREEDOM that is in Christ. God sent His son to redeem Jews under the Law, to set them free from the old covenant through the death and resurrection of Jesus. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in him we might BECOME the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 Jews who died together with Christ were no longer under the Law since the Law only applies to a man as long as he is alive (Rom 7:1). For this reason, Paul said he was crucified with Christ and it was no longer he who lived but Christ who lived in him. He died and was no longer under the Law since the Law only applies to a man as long as he lives. Keeping commandments is an effort by fleshly men to achieve righteousness. But God gives us His righteousness as a gift of grace when He gives us His Spirit by which we walk in His righteousness. Believers who take up their cross, and present their bodies as living sacrifices to God, are led by the Spirit of their perfectly righteous God and they know His will by His Spirit which indwells them and leads them into all righteousness, HIS righteousness. They don't need to check His commandments to make sure He is leading them properly. He is the author of the Law and He happens to know all about His own righteous will. Hence, we can put all our trust in Him when He leads us by His Spirit. God is love and all His righteousness derives from His love which is poured into our hearts by His Spirit which He gives us. In this way, his perfectly righteous will is known to us and His love which navigates us through life and by which we love one another, the fulfillment of the whole Law. His righteousness by which we walk is His righteousness not our own, His works which he prepares for us to do, His good works of love, His perfect will, His perfect righteousness, the fulfillment of the Law by obeying Him who leads us by His Spirit just as He led Jesus into His perfect righteousness. When He had finished speaking with him upon Mount Sinai, He gave Moses the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written by the Finger of God. Deuteronomy 9:10 But if I cast out demons by the Finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. Luke 11:20 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. Matthew 12:28
