New Heaven and New Earth

In Revelation 21 we read of a New Heaven and a New earth. The final victory over evil has triumphed, and the world will once and for all be rid and purified of sin, this time by fire. The Holy City, the New Jerusalem descends from Heaven. Lucifer and the nations of whom he deceived will make a final attempt to destroy the camp of the saints before being consumed by fire. It is during this process of which God purifies the Earth and makes her new again. A New Heaven, our surroundings, the environment we once knew will be of the former order of things, for we also read that there was no need for the sun or the moon to give it's light because the glory of God illuminates the city the Lamb is its lamp (verse 23). The New Jerusalem will rest on the new Earth and the saints who dwell with Christ for eternity inherit this paradise, as Eden is restored.
