I was recently gifted a Budai, “Laughing Buddha” that I just fell in love with. Wonderful carving, and it seems very old. My mother had one when I was a child, and I was always so fascinated with him, so drawn to him. I have had a few through the years, and have a few now, but something about this one really touches me. I give this in honor, respect and tribute to Budai, for his sprinkling of Joy into the hearts of all he comes in contact with. Zen, Zen, Zen… Budai fills your space with a deep Zen feel, he lights up even the darkest corners.
