I photographed Honeycombs over two days last year under different conditions. It was a location I wanted to return to as there are miles of varied coastline to explore. I headed south over the rocks to see how the coastline had changed since last year. I noticed the beach had built up and was steeper but cutaway in parts. The sky had a variety of clouds at different levels, but I could see a break near the horizon where I hoped the light from the setting sun was going to shine through and reflect off the clouds. However, the lower clouds built up, and the sunset was blocked, resulting in a grey sky and an average shot. Despite the disappointment of the sunset, every photograph trip is an opportunity to practice composition, read how the light changes under different conditions, and become familiar with the location.
