She discovers a threatening e-mail sent to Grace, which prompts her to learn that Kevin purchased surveillance cameras to put in an abandoned home that also happens to be her former holiday residence in Nevada. Jimmy phones June at that precise moment and says he knows something about Grace. When Jimmy shows up, he explains that he is June's father and that Grace, who was mentally unstable, took June from him after getting him falsely accused of a crime. He unintentionally reveals himself as a heroin addict who put all of them in danger; Grace and Heather had told June he passed away from cancer to keep her from learning the truth. James hired Kevin, whom he had met in prison, to pose as a potential boyfriend so that he could track down Grace and June in order to exact retribution. June is abducted by James, who then brings her to the old house where Grace is also held captive. Before James shoots Grace, they reconcile. Grace fatally stabs James in the neck with a shard of broken glass as he tries to flee with June. June uses the webcams to instruct Siri to call the police after noticing James never turned off her laptop when he abducted her. Grace has recovered from her gunshot wound several months later, and June is now enrolled in college.
