54 Palestinian bodies buried in Gaza after being returned from Israel with signs of torture

The bodies of 54 unidentified Palestinians, previously held by Israel, have been laid to rest in numbered graves after being returned bearing clear signs of torture, according to a statement by the Gaza Media Office. The Gaza government also said that efforts to identify and document the bodies were hindered by ongoing Israeli attacks that targeted Gaza’s infrastructure. According to official the statement, Israel handed over the bodies with visible evidence of abuse. Official forensic examinations confirmed that the deceased had been subjected to severe violations while in Israeli custody.
