Spartan Race - Pomáz (HU) 2024 - Sprint

The day has come and before even realizing it, the last race of the 2024 season has arrived and I dare to say ‘finally arrived’ 🏁 As it often is the case, the season was full of ups and downs. Battling lime disease and additional health issues resulting from the weakened immune system, navigating through major personal challenges, and finding the grit to push through and finish the season closer to how I originally scheduled it than I thought would be possible. With all of this in mind, I was coming to Pomáz extremely proud of what we accomplished, excited for what lies ahead, extremely exhausted from the past 8 months, and just looking forward to have some great time enjoying the moment – knowing that it is difficult to predict what next year will bring with our third baby on the way 🥹 Race Details: 🗺️ Location: Breier Farm, Breier Tanya 1, Pomáz, 2013 Hungary 🌦️ Weather Conditions: Ideal! Cloudy, no rain or wind, and temperatures around 15°C 👟 Running Distance: 6.08 km 🗻 Elevation Gain: 159m 🪜 Course Obstacles: 22 📷 Course Highlight: Sandbag Carry! I swear that this was the longest Sandbag Carry of my entire Spartan career. It wasn’t too difficult or technical, just endless. Also, the enormous excitement of hitting the spear, followed by sheer disappointment seconds later when it touched the ground was funny and devastating at the same time 😂 Immediately after crossing the finish line, I was a little bit emotional. I could feel on the course that I am not in top shape anymore, but the pure, unadulterated fun of being on the course was overwhelming. While not knowing what and how will be possible in 2025, after the race I was sure that, once again, we’ll be back to racing as soon and as much as possible. Not for the results or medals, but everything that goes into hobby racing – determination, pride, and sheer excitement 🤘 See you all in in 2025 – in greater numbers!
