There is ‘nothing to suggest’ the knife attack on a train between Doncaster and London was motivated by terrorism, British Transport Police said. In a press conference on Sunday morning, the force revealed two suspects, who were arrested by armed officers within eight minutes of the first 999 call, were two British men in their 30s. Two people are still fighting for their lives in hospital after a man armed with a large knife started stabbing people on a London-bound train in Cambridgeshire. A 32-year-old Black British national and a 35-year-old British national of Caribbean descent were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Armed police rushed to Huntingdon railway station to respond to the incident, which is understood to have started shortly after the LNER train left Peterborough station. Cambridgeshire Constabulary said the first emergency calls were received at 7.39pm. Witnesses described passengers hiding in the toilets to escape the rampage, with one person saying there was "blood everywhere" and people were getting "stamped" on as they tried to flee.
