China has been the world's single largest energy consumer since 2011. Their energy use demand has grown at an average of 4% a year since 1980 and that is not expected to change. Every country wants to have a lot of stable, reliable electricity. But China in particular needs a lot of it. And most of that electricity comes from coal. It has been coal for a while now, and it is going to still be coal for a long time thereafter. In this video, I want to look at the role of coal in China's energy ecosystem.
