This past year has been quite a journey and it seems to have gone by in the blink of an eye. Personally, 2020 has been a year of growing pains. I got out of a relationship, graduated from university, moved home, moved abroad for grad school, withdrew from grad school, and now I am waiting to head back to the states. Yet amidst all of this uncertainty, I am able to be certain of the Lord’s plans. Do I know the exact plans that He has for me? No. But I know that it is for my good and it always will be. I know that his plans for me are plans to prosper. I know that time and time again he has pulled me out of my own darkness and lead me into grace. I know that time and time again, he calms the storm within my heart and leads me to green pastures and still waters. I am certain of His unwavering love for me. I am certain that I do not have to do life alone. I have a choice, a choice to live out my life with this confidence or a choice to live with fear and anxiety. In knowing all that Christ has for me, how can I dwell in anything other than certain confidence in Him? How can I ever go back to the uncertainty that this world offers? This not to say that I have never wavered back and forth before because my spirit is willing but my flesh is weak and sometimes I choose the world. However, the Holy Spirit is leading me back to Him deeper than ever before and that invitation to take His hand will always be available. That’s what I’m certain of.
