Kingswear for Dartmouth.

A leisurely saunter around Kingswear, Dartmouth and the ferries on the River Dart. Many railway stations can be found around the UK which are many miles from the nearest rails which once served them, many due to Mr. Beeching's efforts in the 1960s. Dartmouth Station however, is unique - rails were never laid beside it. The Dartmouth and Torbay Railway Company were responsible for building the railway, but funds would not allow them to overcome the difficulties involved in crossing the River Dart. Instead they opted to build the terminus at Kingswear, and complete the journey to Dartmouth by ferry. Hence the signs reading "Kingswear for Dartmouth" along the platforms.
