Wedding day 2: As dawn unfolded on the second day of celebration, the newly bound souls—bride and groom—walked together with their families and friends to the sacred grounds of Jal Binayak Ganesh Mandir, nestled in Butwal Ward No. 1. In the quiet glow of morning, incense rose with whispered prayers as the Guvaju (a Newar priest) guided them through ancient rituals, seeking divine blessings for love, harmony, and a life intertwined. As the sun dipped and evening embraced the day, the air filled with warmth and laughter during the Sagun ceremony. Rooted in the graceful traditions of the Newa culture, the bride’s family was offered Sagun and heartfelt blessings by their closest kin. Sacred moments gently blended with joy and playfulness, as crowns were worn, glasses adorned, and imitation jewels sparkled, turning ritual into celebration, and tradition into living memory.
