Well, this one was a long time in the making...started working on it in the middle of June and it was only recently finished...only to find that I couldn't use a portion of what I had due to some Brazilian Copyright Claim BS again. So, I've taken the liberty of editing down to the bare essentials, which still leaves this Compilation at Feature Length. My proudest achievement as a collector is acquiring almost every single film in the Walt Disney Classics lineup. Some of these tapes are exceptionally rare and every time I acquire one, I feel a bit better about how much I've achieved in these regards. And because of this, one of the most diligently edited and composed videos I've come out with is set to debut today on Thanksgiving (uploaded earlier to save space on my Laptop) The Walt Disney Classics Collection is arguably the most famous lineup of Home Video releases of all time. Prior to 1984, many believed that the majority of classic Disney Films would never see the light of day in a release to Home Video due to the turmoil engulfing Walt Disney Productions. However, with the release of Robin Hood in 1984, Disney proved that their films could be successful on Home Video, if they released them carefully. The resulting chaos that ensued gave Disney some of the highest selling VHS tapes of all time, culminating in a five year run of outselling the previous year's top seller to become the highest selling VHS of all time (Fantasia in 1991 all the way to The Lion King in 1995). For a Supreme Edition of this magnitude, I brought the original back and refined a few things regarding it's setup, while also adding a few new trailers/promos that would let this be a feature length release. Many of these trailers/promos were not originally seen in the US, but with Brian Cummings and Mark Elliot being the announcers for the majority of them, I figured they could squeeze in here. I also used a few Classics Trailers from non-Classics releases stateside, including The Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit and Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey. The Videos used in this compilation include: Robin Hood Demo VHS (1984) Robin Hood 1984 VHS Pinocchio 1985 VHS (Version A) Dumbo 1985 VHS The Sword and the Stone 1986 VHS (Version A) Pinocchio 1986 VHS Sleeping Beauty 1986 VHS Lady and the Tramp 1987 VHS Alice in Wonderland 1988 VHS Cinderella 1988 VHS Bambi 1989 VHS The Little Mermaid 1990 VHS Peter Pan 1990 VHS The Jungle Book Demo VHS The Jungle Book 1991 VHS Robin Hood Demo VHS (1991) Robin Hood 1991 VHS (Version A) Dumbo 1991 VHS The Sword and the Stone 1991 VHS The Rescuers Down Under Demo VHS The Rescuers Down Under 1991 VHS (Versions A and B) Fantasia 1991 VHS 101 Dalmatians Demo VHS 101 Dalmatians 1992 VHS (Versions A, B and C) The Great Mouse Detective Demo VHS The Great Mouse Detective 1992 VHS The Rescuers Demo VHS The Rescuers 1992 VHS Beauty and the Beast 1992 VHS (Versions A, B and C) Pinocchio 1993 VHS (Version A) Aladdin 1993 VHS (Versions A and B) The Fox and the Hound 1994 VHS (Versions A and B) The Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit 1986 VHS Ducktales: Treasure of the Lost Lamp 1991 VHS Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey Various VHS Previews (US) Various VHS Previews (UK and AU) Though this one was a rough one to put together, I am proud of how it turned out. Do not expect another Compilation anytime soon, as I plan to keep these at two a year. The next one should be ready to go by June of 2025 and I believe it will either be the long awaited Compilation 1999, but I cannot confirm or deny at this point. Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Americans and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday.
