India China trade deal: According to the latest figures from the Department of Commerce, India's trade deficit with China surged to $102 billion between April and February. What is surprising is that there is still one month remaining in the financial year. During the same period last year, this deficit stood at approximately $91.1 billion. This means that in just a single year, this gap has widened by another $11 billion. Now, consider a crucial point here: India does indeed sell goods to China—however, the volume of goods flowing from China into India is many times greater. This is precisely why such a massive trade deficit is emerging. According to the data, India's exports to China rose by 38% to reach $17.5 billion between April and February. That sounds promising... but the other side of the story is far more alarming. During that same period, India's imports from China increased by 15%, reaching approximately $120 billion. In other words, India is purchasing a significantly larger volume of goods from China. And this is the reason why the trade deficit continues to widen steadily. Watch this video for the full details.
