On November 12, 2022, Jens Pauli Heinesen would have turned 90 years old. In this context, he was celebrated with a grand honor and release concert at the Nordic House in Tórshavn with performances of new symphonic music by Heinesen's daughter, Elin Brimheim Heinesen, set to his poems, along with other entertainment. Suni Merkisstein was the host of the celebration event and guided the audience through the evening. On stage were: • The Faroe Islands Symphony Orchestra conducted by Bernhard Wilkinson • Elin Brimheim Heinesen, organizer, composer and solo singer • Enzo De Rosa, arranger and concert pianist • The choir Tarira • Tórshavn Male Choir Between the musical performances, there were talks, short presentations, and readings with: • Hanus Kamban, author • Annika Hoydal, singer and actress • Sonne Smith, journalist and actress • Báðrur Persson, actor • Unn Paturson, musician • Páll Danielsen, actor • Gulla Øregaard, documentary film director Although few, the poems that Jens Pauli Heinesen wrote during his life are significant. In honor of the author, attention was drawn to six of his beautiful and meaningful poems, which his daughter Elin Brimheim Heinesen has set to music. Elin first initiated a crowdfunding project in 2021, which financed the symphonic release of the song "Sóleyan lýsir um fløtur." She then embarked on another crowdfunding project in 2022 and sought support from foundations and companies for the release and performance of the six songs she has composed to her father's poems. It was successful in gathering enough funds for the production and premiere of the music. Elin has collaborated with the Italian composer and concert pianist Enzo De Rosa, who has created the magnificent arrangements for symphony orchestra and choir for Elin's and Jens Pauli's new songs. Five of the six works were premiered at the celebration concert. The concert concluded with the song that all Faroese know: "Eitt dýpi av dýrari tíð." In this way, the past and present was intertwined, creating a cultural heritage for the future.
