Date of hike 29/05/2021 8 days Bivvy and Tarp in the Lake District national park with middle aged Anglo-Saxon man Outdoors. Bank holiday weekend I got the Stagecoach bus number 78 from Rosthwaite to Keswick . From Keswick i got the stagecoach X5 bus to Penrith train station i then restocked food at nearby Morrisons supermarket. Then headed back to the train station to charge up my gear. I then got the stagecoach X4 back to Keswick where i got the 77A to Honister Pass. I then started my hike. Try seeing what the price is for each train jorney it may work out cheaper buying a ticket for each train in advance than one train ticket for the whole journey. Same for national express coaches and Megabus. Stagecoach offer week tickets for a county local area or larger area. Such as Lake District which is at moment £30 for a week. Low impact camping. Mostly a solo camper with a very small footprint in a bivvy, Tarp or a small one man hiking tent with a colour that blends in with the Countryside. I never have owned a car and never drive. Almost EMF emission free apart from the drone. No luxury of going back to a car on a multi day camp hence big bag. I do not preach people about it unlike people who do who fly in private jets and tell you how to live your life!. I travel by foot and use public transport or hitchhike when needed. Not that there anything wrong with using a car which there is not. Cars give people freedom.
