Family Snowboarding Trip to Cataloochee Ski Area | Fresh Snow, Blue Skies & Winter Road Trip

We packed up the family and headed from Tennessee to North Carolina for a winter adventure at Cataloochee Ski Area ⛷️❄️ Fresh snowfall, blue skies, and mountain views made it the perfect day to ride. Cataloochee is tucked away in Maggie Valley, NC, and is known for being super family-friendly, well-groomed runs, and reliable snowmaking that keeps the slopes in great shape all season long. With a mix of beginner, intermediate, and advanced terrain, there was something for everyone to enjoy. We put in a solid full day of snowboarding, soaking up every run before calling it and heading back home. The drive honestly wasn’t as bad as we expected, even with the new snow and icy conditions — a win there. The real battle came after 😅 The car was absolutely destroyed with salt and mud, so we gave it a well-earned bath in 22-degree weather. Cold? Yes. Worth it? Also yes — we got it clean.
