India has more Muslims than any country except Indonesia. India’s Muslims have the lowest living standard in the country on a per capita basis Now we will try to examine the employment rate of Muslims in Big government departments like railway Indian Army your crazy and banking jobs we would also try to examine that what is the percentage of Muslims living under the poverty line and how many Muslims are actively participating in Indian politics. Employment: Muslims comprise only 5% of employees in India's big government. Only 5% of muslims are in Indian Railways, the country's biggest employer. Out of 1.1m Indian soldiers only 29,000 are Muslims, 3% or less of the Indian army. The overall percentage of Muslims in bureaucracy in India is just 2.5% 3.5% of the country's banking employees 31% of Muslims are below the country's poverty line Of the 543 MPs in India's lower house of parliament, only 36 are Muslims Education Indian Muslim lag behind in terms of education and literacy let's have a look at some of the quick facts about the achievements of Indian Muslim in field of education. Sachar Panel show that percentage of Muslim students doing under-graduation courses is less about nine per cent. Quarter of Muslim children in the age-group 6-14 have either never attended school or dropped out. Every 1,000 Muslim boys, only 10 enter post-graduation; and for Muslim girls the figure is just 2. Only five per cent Muslim women manage higher education. In medical colleges, only six per cent of Muslim men take up undergraduate courses in Medicine. Less than four per cent for Muslim men at the postgraduate With only four per cent taking up medicine at the undergraduate level. Just 1.5 per cent for Muslim women at the postgraduate level. At the IITs, only 1.5 per cent of Muslims make it to undergraduate courses. It is a dismal 3.5 per cent at the postgraduate level and 4.5 per cent at the research level. Based on the above figures, one can conclude that, There is not much progress made by in Indian muslims in the last years. Muslims still lag behind in many areas, whether it is Education, Employment or Social awareness.
