With a global push for diversity and inclusivity, the construction industry is evolving to become a more welcoming space for women. In support of this movement, the NSW Government has invested $20.2 million to attract more women into construction roles by 2030. This panel is being organized by Engineers Australia – ACES and Project Controls Expo Australia as they have collaborated on previous similar initiatives. The session will be introduced by Abhi Datta (National Chair – Executive Committee for Engineers Australia – ACES ; who has taken this as a mission on behalf of Engineers Australia , ACES and moderated by Dennis Cliche – Chairman of Cross Yarra Partnership, Chairman of the Board for North Brisbane Infrastructure and Ex CEO of Westconnex who is passionate about this topic. • To create a desire and awareness for women to choose a career in major projects and Architecture, Engineering and Construction sector which contributes to around 14 percent of Global GDP. • Hear about the personal journeys from a few women who are leaders in this sector – making a difference each day. • Removing obstacles: removing obstacles that prevent women from entering the construction industry and implement reforms to create safe and inclusive workplaces.
