On a bright, blustery day on the Kent coast, I walk the shoreline towards the ancient ruins of Reculver Towers — where land, sea and history quietly collide. Once a Roman fort and later a medieval church, Reculver stands on a coastline shaped by erosion, storms and centuries of change. Along the way, I explore local ghost stories, watch waves crash against the sea defences, and discover the strange beauty of whelk egg cases scattered along the beach. The walk continues through skylark meadows and grazing sheep, with spring light inland and rainstorms gathering out at sea — a landscape suspended between seasons. This film reflects on the wider drowned history of the North Kent coast, linking Reculver with the lost pier at Herne Bay. Featuring an original ambient soundtrack by Solace in the Sky.
