At yesterday's maiden of my new FlyEgg 130mm 3 inch quad, I was not getting very good range with the video transmitter that came with it. It's a 25-100mw VTX and even though it's hard soldered for 100mw, the range I was getting was poorer than the Tramp VTX's power at 25mw. So, I just knew, that I had to swap it out. Only VTX I had laying around was the HGLRC GTX226 switchable from 25 to 600mw. It's a little heavier and thicker than the other VTX and wouldn't fit within the FlyEgg electronics bay because the FC and PDB/ESC are stacked together using pins and therefore couldn't be lowered any further than that. But, I figured out a way to put the VTX on there in a way that's acceptable enough for me for the time being. With the VTX sitting on top like this, reminds me of the Borg in Star Trek. I'm also thinking, "Frankenquad", or "HumpbackEgg". Hah. Well, she flys and can hump the heavier VTX with no problem in strong winds. The FPV video range is my main concern. I'm happy now with the range I'm getting. So much better to be able to fly this little booger to the same distances I'd fly my 180 and 212mm quads. :: FLIGHT CONTROLLER CONFIGURATION :: Type: Piko-BLX Evo CLI, serialrx_inverted = OFF Configurator, ButterFlight 3.5 (using firmware FF_PIKOBLX) 8K / 4K ESC Protocol, DShot600 Quad type, PT1, all filters off Default PIDs, custom Rates :: POWER USED FOR CURRENT FLIGHT :: Tattu Lipo, 2S 650 Mah 75C Future flights I'll use 3S.
