A new project is upon us! I’m so excited to get started on this 8” custom pipe entrance for a customer. Not only is it going to look awesome on his property but it also gives me an opportunity to teach you some of my favorite tips for fitting up the branch welding test. Pipe fabrication and pipe welding is all in the setup. Laying it out right, taking your time and cleaning it up all matters no matter if it’s for a project or on test day. I’m excited that two of my worlds are colliding and I’m getting to share this with you. There isn’t much better for an ol pipeline welder who’s been at home to be able to do a decent-sized pipe fit-up. We are still making do over here with the gen pole and a-frame. I hope this shows you that while getting started as a rig welder is expensive there are creative ways around some of the larger ticket items.
