But just as Britain celebrates its first major land victory of World War II, a new threat arrives: Erwin Rommel. Sent by Hitler to salvage the collapsing Italian front, the “Desert Fox” lands in Tripoli with orders to hold Libya — and immediately begins pushing east. At the same time, British commanders face tough choices: should they secure North Africa, or divert their best troops to Greece as Churchill demands?
