Fort Delimara was built between 1876 and 1878 as part of a ring of forts to protect Marsaxlokk harbor, along with Fort Tas-Silġ, Fort San Luċjan, and Fort Bengħajsa. It's a Victorian-era fortification, and as you can see, it's designed to be tough and imposing, with a dry ditch and three counter-scarp galleries surrounding it. Inside, the fort has a huge Parade Ground surrounded by barracks and other buildings. But what really makes Fort Delimara special are these massive 38-ton RML guns. Four of them are still here, sitting on their original carriages and platforms—making them the last of their kind in the entire world! These guns were cutting-edge technology back in the day, although they were eventually replaced by even more powerful weapons. Over the years, the fort was re-armed and upgraded to keep up with advancements in artillery technology. It played a key role during both World Wars, especially during World War II when it was bombarded by enemy air attacks. Fort Delimara was in use until 1956, and after Malta gained independence in 1964, it was handed over to the local government. While the fort is temporarily closed to the public, its rich history and the breathtaking views from here are still worth the visit. #youtube #malta #europe #fortdelimara #marsaxlokk #ww2 #war #history #forgoupage #foryou #fyp #fypシ゚viral #shorts #share #viralvideo #viralshorts #bangladesh #bangladeshi
