We loved this DIY snorkeling day! Here's the scoop: -Catching a cab is very easy from this cruise port! As soon as you exit the cruise terminal, there's a sign with transparent cab prices. Tell these guys where you want to go and they will load you up with other people going to nearby drop-offs. -Make sure you get your cab driver's phone number or have a plan for someone else to call him (for us, he had a contact working at Coki Beach who called on our behalf when we were ready to). Worst case scenario, there will be a cab driver somewhere who will take you. -BOOK AHEAD OF TIME: Chairs & an umbrella were $20. We used sandyspot.com. There weren't many other cruises in port our day but I imagine if there were, the beach would be filled quickly. This reserves your spot at the beach no matter how many cruisers show up. -Go early! We were first off the boat and probably had 2 full hours with less than 30 people at the beach. You also get chairs closer to the water the earlier you go. By the afternoon, the water was pretty full of snorkelers. -There's a bathroom and a few snacky places at this beach. -Coki Beach is right next to Coral World for reference. You could get to Coral World yourself just as easily as a cruise excursion (and even combine it with Coki Beach snorkeling. It is literally a 2-minute walk.) We did not do it, so I can't tell you if it's cool or not, but it seemed to be a popular stop. -Safety: Don't bring anything valuable. Good rule of thumb everywhere. There was a decent amount of hawking on this beach (including a man very aggressively selling $10 mangos). Definitely some local disputes going on with the beach businesses which was a little awkward if anything. But otherwise, basic needs are covered here and it's a pretty and easy snorkel spot.
