BUY ME A COFFEE: buymeacoffee.com/Mibal TIKTOK: @mibal_trains INSTAGRAM: @mibal_explores The third and final part of my 2024 journey through Laos begins in Vang Vieng, where I boarded the C82 “bullet” train bound for Boten. This was my first time on board of the CR200J, which was pretty exciting. While it doesn’t really go faster than 160 km/h, what the journey “lacks” in speed, it makes up for with stunning views—at least for the parts not in tunnels, which account for about 50% of the trip from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang. Once there, I took a minivan to my hotel and prepared to explore this historic capital of Laos. Luang Prabang is famous for its unique blend of wooden architecture with a European colonial vibe, its serene morning monk processions, and the always breathtaking views of the Mekong River. And let’s not even get started on the surrounding hills! Its calm atmosphere was a refreshing change from the bustling backpacker haven of Vang Vieng. After soaking in all the above-mentioned sights, I rented a motorbike and indulged in some railfanning near the Luang Prabang station. #railway #adventure #railfanning #railroadlife #laos #lcr #laochinarailway #townexploration #temples #adventure #biking #vangvieng #luangprabang #mekong #bullet #train
