The Sulawesi Civet is a rare and endemic civet (Viverridae). Prior to this video, which is documented first by Natural History NZ Corp. there have been no live footages of it. There have been some photographs taken from a joint study between Smithsonian Institution - Conservation and Research Centre, The Ragunan Zoo Jakarta and the ITB - Technology Institute of Bandung, Dept. Biology (1978-79). THE MIGHTY CIVET natural history documentary tells about the film expedition to capture the Sulawesi Civet (Macrogalidia musshenbroekii , Schlegel, 1877) for the purpose to create a Conservation educational video production, that both complement the Natural History NZ Corp. series, and to raise awareness on its IUCN (critically) endangered status, amongst the people of Sulawesi and Indonesia, where it is still being snared for its meat. The "MIGHTY CIVET" doco was later purchased and screened world-wide by NATURAL GEOGRAPHIC - NG Channel during 2000-2009, including on commercial TV channels in Indonesia. Special thanks to Ahmad Sjarmidi PhD, Christian Wemmer Phd., Yulisan Sango and Family, Natural History NZ Corp, Department Of Forestry of Indonesia, Lore Lindu National Park Management, Alain Compost.
