The Daisy Hill Puppy applications only allow the Puppy to have a Kennel as the puppy's owner. If the puppy is owned by an individual the Kennel attribute is left empty [null]. We need to allow for the identification of both Kennel owners and individual owners. The developers are not sure how to modify the database table structures to provide for this requirement. Additionally, we would like to explore if the data structures can also accommodate multiple owners. In this video I will explore numerous methods of resolving the multiple relationship problems at the data base level. I will also discuss what is commonly known as the super-type/sub-type modeling technique; pointing out the pros and cons of this solution.
