Seiko SPB089 Blue Alpinist Seiko U.S.A. Limited Edition Review

This is my review of the Seiko SPB089 Blue Alpinist Seiko U.S.A. Limited Edition. Pretty self-explanatory. I share my experience with it as well as show off how well it pairs with various strap options. And, contrary to initial impressions, this is not a Hodinkee special watch. Hodinkee only had exclusive rights to be the only retailer outside of Seiko U.S.A. to sell this U.S.A. only limited edition watch.. and I think slightly before Seiko U.S.A. themselves were able to sell them. Despite some negative reactions to how this watch was marketed and sold, I still believe it is a fine edition to the Seiko Alpinist line and one that was much desired. On one hand I feel it probably would have been better to please the masses to have offered this watch as not limited edition and free for anyone to buy. On the other hand, I can't deny there is something cool and special about limited edition watches that make them more desired and something to seek and own and yes have a bit of bragging rights. And, you don't get many watches sub $1000, or even above $1k, that will retain, if not gain, value after purchase which in my humble opinion is a good and rare thing that happens far less than it does happen. My apologies if the general video quality and sound may be lower than usual. I thought I had saved a hi-def version of this video before deleting all my previous copies but I may not have for this one. Anyways, it is what it is and at least I hope it gives additional insight and another POV on this somewhat unnecessarily controversial watch from Seiko.
