Robert Schumann, one of the greatest composers in Germany, master of romantic music, and his devoted wife Clara, a famous pianist who sacrificed her career for Schumann. Brahms was a student of Schumann and he adored Clara and lived alone all his life. Mentally disturbed Schumann tried to suicide himself into the Rhine, but passed away after suffering pneumonia. Clara devoted and loved her entire life for Schumann. When her first lover and eternal companion Schumann passed away, Clara left a will, to be buried with Schumann after she died. Clara had to raise seven young children by playing Schumann’s music. Brahms adored Clara who was 14 years older than him, he took care of Clara and her children in distance during his whole life. When Clara passed away, sick Brahms made all day trip by train to attend Clara’s funeral to bury her with Schumann . Brahms died within a year after Clara’s death. Their love story was made as a movie called ‘ Geliebt Clara’ (released in 2008). Schumann became a student of famous pianist Friedrich Wieck, due to financial difficulties, and stayed in his home. Wieck had a nine years old daughter, a genius pianist Clara. Young and handsome Schumann had many lovers, but he fell in love with Clara. Playboy and uncertain future of Schumann vs. Wieck’s pampered love Clara. When Wieck found their love affair. he strongly opposed their marriage because he felt betrayed and was upset. After a three year court fighting Schumann eventually got ‘Marriage Permission’. Schumann composed ‘Variation by Schumann’s theme’ and ‘Mirtereu Flower’ for his lover Clara. Schumann and Clara helped musical genius Brahms to debut in the music world. Brahms’s respect and friendship for Schumann, his adoration for Clara.
