In this video, I dig into Killers, KISS’s 1982 release that arrived at a pivotal moment for the band. Coming at the tail end of the original lineup’s studio work, this album captures KISS leaning into a sharper, early-’80s hard rock sound with tighter songwriting and modern production. Essentially a "greatest hits" album, Killers contained four original songs: I'm A Legend Tonight, Down On Your Knees, Nowhere To Run, and Partners In Crime, recorded in January 1982 at Record Plant Studios in Los Angeles. The album features production by Michael James Jackson, whose work gives these tracks a punchy, radio-ready edge while still retaining the band’s classic power. The performances highlight the chemistry of the original members during their final stretch together, blending anthemic choruses with a heavier, more aggressive tone than much of their late-’70s output.
